Turkey Spaghetti Bolognesse
I'm not a big "dieter" but I wanted to start the new year eating healthier and knocking a lot of things out of my life that wasn't going to help me reach my 90lbs weight loss goal. I'm a college student and this is pretty easy and easy on the pockets. It actually tastes pretty good and can be a ground beef substitute.
What you will need:
1 pound of Ground Turkey
1 Tube of Turkey Sausage
Your favorite Spaghetti Sauce
Onion
Garlic -fresh or dried cloves
A pinch of Salt and Pepper to taste
1 Box of Whole Grain Spaghetti Pasta
Canned Tomatoes (optional)
While you prepare the ground turkey, grab a regular pot, add water and a dash of olive oil (so the noodles don't stick) and throw in your whole grain noodles over medium fire.
In another pot (or frying pan) over medium heat combine the turkey sausage and ground turkey. While waiting for the meat to brown, start chopping the onion.
Drain both noodles and meat mix returning the meat to the pot. Add the sauce, garlic, onion, salt and pepper to the meat mix and simmer. Try it out! Healthy, and delicious!:giggle
