anyone out there?![]()
In a nutshell, eating clean is the practice of eating whole, natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbohydrates. It also means staying away from the junk that typically makes up the Standard American Diet (S.A.D) These types of food include man-made sugar, bad fats (hydrogenated, trans-fat), preservatives, white bread, and any other ingredients that are unnecessary.
A person that eats clean generally practices the following:
Eliminates refined sugar
Cooks healthy meals
Packs healthy meals
Makes healthy choices when dining out
Drinks a lot of water
Eats 5-6 small meals per day
Eliminates alcoholic beverages (or significantly limits it)
Always eats breakfast
GOT THIS online so I wouldn't have to type it all. LOL.
generally all of my meals are a 40/40/20 macronutrient breakdown.
40% complex carbs 40% protein 20% fat
Nothing overly processed etc etc.
No sat fats
I wish I had your discipline! Those kind of eating habits are definitely something I want to pursue. I just need to get myself in the mindstate first! It's so much better for you!
oooh man, i eat clean a lot of the time - i would say 80% of my meals are "clean," but i have a bad candy habit... oopsies. i avoid preservatives hardcore though, i swear the more of them i eat, the worse i feel. my family is pretty big on natural/organic/fresh options. my stepmom bakes all of the bread we eat fresh (usually every day or every other day), and clif bars are my fav thing to eat ever (organic, gluten/dairy free, no preservatives).
but i know that when i do "eat clean" i feel markedly better and i can totally notice the difference!
yea I jumped right into it about a year ago. Never looked back. I was busting my butt in the gym and not getting seeing the results I should have. A easy way to make the transition is by finding foods and recipes that you like. Eating clean and healthy does not mean boring and plain. For example today I has sesame mango salsa chicken with brown rice for lunch and fajitas for dinner. They were both amazing!
