So sweet! Congrats on your new addition!
DH: Thank you. ME: For what, babe? DH: For being you.
Good for you for adopting!!!
We adopted both our dogs from the same kill-shelter in the south, and you're right about them not wasting resources on the animals. They did give us a voucher the get a discount on spay and neuter but the shots were paid for by us. That shelter was not in the best shape. In fact, our older dog was sitting in a shopping cart with his 2 other litter mates when we showed up and adopted him.
I adopted him soon after i got married & moved cross country to live with DH and just before he was sent away for training for a few months. Having a new dog definitely helped distract me from the loneliness. I hope your new dog brings you happiness.
he's so cute! how old is he?
We rescued both of our dogs too, Brady (my lab mix) from NC and Cassie (beagle mix) from SC but they were both brought to DC by a rescue.
Omg, those eyes! He looks so grateful!Adopted dogs are just the best!
What a sweet little face! You will have to let us know when you get him.
DH ended up getting off early today so we were able to go pick pup up rather than wait until Saturday
He's warming up to us very fast and is SUCH a cuddler! However when I was cleaning things up before bed I saw a small bug crawl on his belly. I did a thorough search only to find that he has fleas. It's pretty common for shelter dogs to have them, but I was still flustered. Needless to say I've spent my night treating the dog, carpet and couches, vacuuming, and washing everything he had tumbled around on during the day.
Here he is on the drive home from the shelter
