We had the same problem with Stormy (she also had a sensitive stomach along with the dry skin though). Her skin was all dry and flakey. After trying different foods for her stomach we found Eagle Pack Holitic Select Anchovy, Sardine and Salmon meal formula. The fish is excellent for dry skin. She had done GREAT on this and because it's a good quality food she eats and poops less.

Flounder eats Blue Buffalo. I swear by it. His gas isn't as bad as other foods, his coat is noticeably healthier, and it's about the same price as other foods like Iams and what not. He's got the "Chicken and Brown Rice Formula for Large Breeds." Here's a link with it and it's review.

That website has reviews of most common dog foods. You'd be pretty surprised about some of them. I was.

Where are you buying your Blue Buffalo? that's what I wanted to feed but the prices were comparable to what I'm feeding right now at all

    Petsmart.

It's slightly more but nothing that'll break your bank AND he eats way less of it than foods $10 or so cheaper like Iams.

I looked up your suggestion on that review site though and it's about the same quality. If that's cheaper where you're getting it, I'd stick with it.

We had our dog on Nutro and then heard some not such great things about it so to be safe we just recently switched over to Blue Buffalo and I have already seen a huge improvement in my dogs energy level and playfulness..just my own personal experience though! I know plenty of people that have good luck on just about every brand out there..

I have learned so much about dog food in the last two years that it drives me crazy now. I never thought I'd care what my dogs ate. Currently they are both eating California Natural Lamb and Rice Formula. They are both healthy with BEAUTIFUL coats and both had dry skin before. Other foods I like are Orijen and Merrick. We just took them off Merrick because at this point they really don't need a grain free as they are still young at 1 and 2. I would look at what is available in your area. We used to drive over an hour to get our dogs food. Since living down here we have tons of choices just minutes away and it makes it much easier.

i feed my dog Innova EVO basically because of the ingredient list. it gets great reviews, and the price is right as well.

it's really packed with nutrients in such a small amount so we don't have to feed her nearly as much as other brands. it takes 6 weeks to go through a 6.6 pound bag. this keeps her # of bowel movements each day down as well (TMI i know), which is great when you've got a dog in an apartment

    Ingredient list:
Turkey, Chicken, Turkey Meal, Chicken Meal, Potatoes, Herring Meal, Chicken Fat, Natural Flavors, Egg, Garlic, Apples, Carrots, Tomatoes, Cottage Cheese, Alfalfa Sprouts, Dried Chicory Root, Taurine, Lecithin, Rosemary Extract, Vitamins/Minerals, Viable Naturally Occurring Microorganisms

We feed Merrick. It's a fantastic food and both of our dogs do well on it. Either the Wilderness Blend or Turducken.
