    MSOS Convention

    Advertisements
There seemed to be interest in having a MSOS convention based on this thread. http://www.militarysos.com/forum/gen...onvention.html It's been a few days since that one was active. So I figured we could start an "official" discussion & get some planning going.

Icryinbaseball said she would be willing to head the planning, I believe. I know she said she already had a group of people willing to help plan it. How many people do you already have signed up to help plan? Do you want/need more?

This is a great thread if anyone wants to read about the last one that was in the plans. http://www.militarysos.com/forum/mso...onvention.html

What do you all think we should? Should it be in just one location (Vegas was mentioned a lot in the 1st link)? Or plan one for the West Coast, East Coast & maybe Midwest? Should it be a family-friendly event or no kids allowed? If you say no kids allowed, how about a family-friendly dinner & then those that want to go out to a club or what have you do that? Then both parties would be happy.

I said undecided for one reason, and that's because I like the idea of a big one, but if we do that it could mean quite a bit of travel for people. Only thing I can ask is that we plan a decent bit in advance to allow people to save the money to go. I have friends on here from all over so if I wanted to meet everyone the 3 smaller ones wouldn't be doable.

I voted for the 3 smaller ones & then the family friendly dinner with adult only outing afterwards. I think trying to plan 3 smaller ones around the country might be more feasible for most members.

I believe Icryinbaseball suggested Spring 2015 is when we should shoot for.

For me to go it would depend on where, when, and if kids are allowed.

I'd rather attend one big one, but 3 smaller ones will probably be more feasible so a lot of people can go.

I'd also prefer adults only. I mean I don't care if it's a few kids but if it ends up being a giant playdate I'm really not interested.

That sounds awesome! I voted to do 3 smaller ones - but wouldn't truly mind if we did one big one. I also voted family friendly with adults going out afterwards. I'm really up for anything though.

i think 3 ones would be good. east coast, central US, and west coast. maybe stagger them a bit so if someone wants to attend more than one they can.
