So, just wondering, did you get all that you needed to off your chest? Are you cool now? This is really a great site if you give it a chance. I also thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Nichole and I'm a navy wife, too. He's a Seabee and used to be stationed at NAB. Sorry if I'm not making sense. I'm kind of depressed at the moment. I should be better tomorrow, though. Have a good night!

Hi there. Thank for responding to my blog. The reason why my children and I didn't go to Camp Pendleton with my husband is due to our house. We bought a house out here and with the current market there is no way we can sell it for what we bought it. Plus my husband is really attached to the house. It's our first house and he doesn't want to sell it. This house is whats making us be part and sometimes it makes me hate this house. Don't know if that makes sense. LOL. Thanks for the tip on how to find other wives here in AZ. Where are you and your man stationed??
  4. Hello. I too have been off of here now for awhile. I stopped home schooling my boys lately and our entire routine changed. So I'm not on much, but I'll stop in here and there.

Joshua is an SK. So he works in supply. His ship is DDG 108. You had mentioned that your DH is going aboard DDG 105...? Is that correct? I'm not sure, but I think I saw DDG 105 when our ship was Christened a few weeks ago. I know 106 was in the water there, not sure about 105.

Joshua is going to go to Virginia in January until sometime in March or April for C schools and whatnot. It's not the 8 months you're having to do, but I feel some of your pain. Separations just plain suck.

Joshua and I are pretty laid back as well. We do have three children, though. So we're a little more scheduled than we used to be. We also met in highschool. We dated some then, but separated for 5 years only to come back to what we knew was right all along. Right now I'm a stay at home mom. Being a mother is wonderful, but I would like to work. However, having the ages of kids that we do, and knowing that Joshua will be gone so much so soon, it's just not practical. I would LOVE to one day work with elephants! I know it sounds crazy, but it's my dream. I think they're amazing.

We have an awesome group of friends up here that we get together with a lot, and it's going to be tough when they all go to FL and we head out to CA. They're in squadrons with the P3 Orion aircraft. We like to BBQ, enjoy a few drinks, and get all of our crazy dogs together. Between all of us, we have 12! Our family has a Boston Terrier named Winston and he's my fourth baby. I am absolutely crazy about him! I never knew I could love a dog so much! He doesn't look like your average BT, he's brindle and has long legs and a leaner body. I'm not sure if he's a mutant or what, but I love him!

We're also very faithful to one another. We have grown to have 100% trust, which is such a valuable thing. I'm crazy about him, and he is about me. And we can't wait to move to the city together!

If you wind up coming up here for a visit while your husband is here, let me know on here. I'll give you my cell # and we'll get together!
  5. Oh my gosh. I am just now reading this. I sort of checked out per-se over the Summer from forums and such. In Maine, you have got to get out while the weather is nice, because it doesn't last long!

My husband is going aboard the Wayne E. Meyer. We just attended the christening yesterday. Whew! A 6 hour event with all three kids in tow. And DH was part of the ceremony!

Precom just means that the ship is still being built and has not yet been commissioned into the fleet of Naval ships. It's PCU 'whatever' instead of USS 'whatever' until it becomes commissioned. PCU just stands for Pre Commissioned Unit.

We head to San Diego late next year. DH attends schools in VA for three months at the first of the year before actually going aboard the ship. We're actually stationed at NAS Brunswick in Maine right now. We've been here since early last year. DH is Navy.

I'm told that we can put our names on the list for housing in SD as early as January, even though we'll still be in housing up here. And the ship is due to leave port sometime late next Summer. I have no idea when they'll schedule our move. And DH most likely won't get to move with us. He sails out with the ship.

Other than this, I don't have a lot of info. But you can find your ship's website and they'll have a section where you can read ALL about your entitlements and what to expect, etc...

What ship is your husband going aboard?

I am not in Brunswick but I do live in Maine. When will you be moving up here?

Hi Sarah! Thats exciting that you are moving into the area. Brunswick is pretty nice, I sure love it here.
My DH is in a VP Squadron here and hopefully we will be here for another year.
