  1. Oh hi! It is so nice to hear from someone who knows what PKU even is. Thanks for telling me... I'll keep that in mind.

I saw your introduction under the SN children thread. I have a sister and brother both with PKU. I know around here at least, the PKU community is pretty small. I just thought I'd say hi, and feel free to PM me if you ever wanna talk about low Phe recipes or anything.

About Me:
I am a Family and Consumer Science (formerly known as Home Ec) teacher in Texas. I am a Texan by birth. Love it!

I am a veteran, even though I have never been to combat. I only got to serve during peace time.

I spend most of my free time with my children or doing things with my FCCLA group from school.

This summer when my husband goes back in, I will be giving up my job and *hopefully* will begin sewing childrens clothing and costumes to sell.
About Us:
My husband and I met in the Army in 1996. We married and began our family. We began in Aug 2009 trying to get back into the Army. My husband is a disabled veteran so the process took a bit longer than normal. In our quest to re-enter the Army, we went through 3 recruiting stations and 5 recruiters.... this go around. We had also tried in 2007 to get back in but were rejected. Did a bit of research to figure everything out and here we are....

For the past several years we have both been teaching in Texas. Right now we are dying for the school year to end so my husband can leave for training. Cannot WAIT to see where we will be going. Hoping for Hood!

We have 3 daughters. Cathryne, 13; Kaelyn , 10; and Karleigh 23 months. The oldest two were born Army brats :) One was born at Hood and the other in Okinawa while we were stationed there. They are a little nervous about going back in. They are worried about moving and making new friends again. But we are use to moving a lot. So I think they are just worrying to worry!
