Hey there! How is everything going with you?

Oh cool. My husband was infantry before and with the stryker brigade here at Ft. Lewis but he is reclassing and in AIT right now. He has heard they wont be deploying until next summer so I hope that is true. Right now I am trying to figure out the EFMP screening. I havent been to an onpost doctor yet since my enrollment doesnt start until the 1st. I wasnt sure if I needed to just get a physical or something more detailed to show that I have no issues. My husband is no help since he doesnt go ask things too often. I already made an appt to go apply for my no fee passport atleast. I am so glad I work nights or I wouldnt get anything done that I have so far. We just got married a month ago so I have been running around changing and enrolling myself into stuff since he isnt here. That will be nice for you all to be moving after the holidays instead of before.

My husband is MI and will be attached to the stryker brigade there 2nd CR. What about yours? I am starting to stress over all the stuff I have to do to be able to go. In the end it will be worth it all.

I have completed my EFMP screening- I just have to take a packet back once my neurologist fills it out about my migraines. I understand the researching hours a day- I do the same thing. What unit is your hubby going to?? We will be there Jan 10th= we have a little bit of time but I like to be prepared especially if we actually got this much heads up from the Army- I am taking all the time I can to prepare. We don't need a visa evidently- we just need the SOFA stamp on the no fee passport to go back and forth between germany but if you want to travel to any other country while you are there you will want to get a regular passport as well or just make sure that regular passport gets a SOFA stamp in it. Do you have facebook, myspace, etc that we can connect on too?

Well now I am more confused cause I read one of the blogs about no-fee passports and the main lady that seems to be telling everyone how to do things was saying how to get a Visa, but I sent a post on that thread and asked her if she meant SOFA stamp because from what I've been told and read we don't need Visa's just our SOFA stamp. When are you supposed to be there? We are scheduled to report on Sept. 10th. I am nervous about all the move stuff but not going to Germany. I'm to the point now to where it is just annoying that we aren't there yet! LOL I feel the same way about not knowing what I am doing though! I spend about 5 hours a day doing research on the internet trying to figure things out to see if there is anything I can do to hurry things along! Have you completed your EFMP screening yet?

I am also moving to Germany soon! We are going to Vilseck but it is very close to Graf! I have found quite a bit of info on the internet but only by doing hours of digging! You don't need a visa, you either need to get what is called a no-fee passport that has a sofa stamp which your post should be able to help you with (but this passport will only allow you to travel back and forth between Germany and America not to other countries for travel) or get a regular tourist passport that costs $100 per person at the moment and then once you get it you can get your sofa stamp put in that one. The sofa stamp allows you to stay in Germany and come and go as you wish with no time table and without a visa. Ft. Polk should offer a class that focuses on moving overseas. I wish we had that opportunity, my husband is on recruiting orders right now so the closest army post to us is 2 hours away!
