how many of ya'll - Weddings

has had a wedding at the court house or justice of the peace? did you ever have a real wedding after that? and why is it that now-a-days alot of guys would rather do that than the whole shebang? is there any way to make this a nice wedding while holding it there?

we did the JP thing so i'd be on his orders and then had a big wedding later that year. guys never want to have to get dressed up more than they have to

at least mine doesn't

We got married in the court house and then had our wedding 6 months later. A lot of people I know have just had it at the court house. One of my friends did that and then had dinner with close family and friends at a nice resturant afterwards. I wouldn't let dh get away without having the ceremony with family, and he wanted that too.

We got married at the court house cause we just didn't have the money for a real wedding.

We did JOP then were going to a wedding on our 1year.. then orders came up and I just didnt have enough time and was too stressed to plan. We will renew our vows in Hawaii eventually lol

We did the JOP thing, we haven't done a real wedding (been married 11 years now i don't think it's gonna happen. lol) I think some men are afraid of the whole bridezilla moments. Or maybe they feel like we are married what does it matter how it happened?

I got married at the court house.

No real big wedding I don't really care for it. I rather save the money I would have spent on a big wedding for something else.

My DH and I were both fine with the court house and I like the way we did it.

We did the whole elope to the JOP thing. We planned on a big wedding on our 5th anniversary but had a baby instead.

Yep, we did the JOP thing too. He still got dressed up and I had a cute little summer dress(I was in GA--so HOT) and we saved a whole lot of money. My sister was there to videotape and my BIL took pics! My sister put my two little nephews in tuxes to be ring bearers. For me it was my second though and the thought of having a completely stress free wedding was enough to be all for the JOP!
