    GETTING MARRIED!

    Advertisements
    Hello everyone,

Im getting married to one of the best guys I have ever met!

He is an Army captain in Qatar for another three months. Ugh. Any advice would be great.

Does the Army give them extra time off for the wedding?

    Thanks

What is a salute to love wedding?

Congratulations! DH was just deployed to Qatar this summer. To answer your question, no whatever leave your DF has built up is how much time he can take off and he still has to get it approved first.

You might want to message a mod to ask them to move this thread from "Site Information", which is the area for questions about the rules of the site, problems with the software, etc.

Have you asked him this question? No, they don't get extra time off for a wedding. They have to use their leave, just like any other time off. And they are not guaranteed to get any time off at all. Likewise, they are not guaranteed not to deploy on short notice or have to go to work for some reason. Nature of the beast, and something to get used to. If you are planning a big wedding, ask all your vendors about a military clause so you can get your money back if you need to cancel.

I've never heard of a "Salute to Love" wedding. But, after a quick Google search, it looks like it was some radio station or business promotion where they'd give a military couple a fairy tale wedding.
