    Question Pre-wedding beauty regimen

    Advertisements
What did you do to prep for your wedding? Did you splurge on any treatments?

My sister's wedding is in 17.5 days. We're working on whitening her teeth, trying to get rid or lessen her sun spots, exfoliating, improving her hair, skin, and nails, and I'm doing the same minus the sun spots. I also need to get a hair cut this week. We're also going to try homemade body wraps either this or next weekend that I found on pinterest.

Wow! That sounds like fun (and a lot). Before my wedding I got a haircut, tried to keep my acne under control, and got my nails did (by my sister-in-law). And that's it

I had a facial, my hair dyed and my nails and toes done. My MoH is also a makeup artist and works for a skin care line so she did my facial for me.

I'd be careful about doing anything crazy too close to the wedding because if she has a reaction to a chemical or something it could be trouble.

Good thinking. So next week, don't do anything new?

I wouldn't. FOR SURE don't do anything new or use anything new within 2-3 days before the wedding.

Haha, no worries. I'm so low maintenence most of the time that even those things were a lot for me. I even wore lip gloss and eye shadow~! Dh was so confused, like "why do your eyes look all weird?"

I did none of those things. That seems so weird to me. I got a facial a couple days prior to the wedding (or maybe it was the weekend before) because the girls and I did a spa day for fun.

I seriously doubt anyone is going to notice the color of her teeth! If it's really important, she can whiten them for like $24.99 with a store bought kit. Unless she's wealthy and has money to throw away, all this seems crazy. And yes, if she has a reaction to something or her hair doesn't come out as she'd planned, what then?

I had loose plans to kind of pamper myself before the wedding but I was awful about it. I was too busy, too stressed, had too much going on. I managed to get a mani/pedi and a little eyebrow maintenance (while I was in the pedi chair) but it was pretty rushed.

I'd definitely recommend that kind of thing to the type of bride who has time and money for it. It just wasn't realistic for me.
