Free wedding offered for deserving military couple in Coloraod
I was just looking at the news and saw this article, so I thought I would share it.
http://www.9news.com/news/article.as...6310&catid=188 BROOMFIELD - When a group of military moms, sisters and wives got together to plan a wedding in October they never imagined what would follow. "This is the hardest obstacle so far," American Legion Post 11-11 Manager Cindy Borrego said. "I did not see it coming." What they did foresee was a lot of leg work to plan a dream wedding for one lucky military couple. When their final product was approved, the women of American Legion Post 11-11 were ready to give away a free wedding, complete with flowers, food and even a D.J. "We have a linen person, we have a photographer," Borrego said. "We even have a babysitter to take care of the children during the ceremony." But what they don't have is hampering the master plan. "We have to get a bride and groom," Borrego said. Even after sending out countless flyers, e-mails and phone calls, Post 11-11 has only received one entry for the free wedding giveaway. "I think maybe they think it's a hoax," Borrego said."Or perhaps these military members are afraid it will be a grand stand that gets too much attention." But Borrego says it is not a hoax, it is a gift from Post 11-11 to any active duty military member, young or old, who is engaged and in need of a free wedding. Time is running out to enter the contest. Borrego says they will draw a name on Nov. 11, Veteran's Day, to decide on the lucky couple. All entries should be e-mailed to Post 11-11 at info@legionpost11-11.org. Entries must include a story about the couple, a picture, contact information and their Commanding Officer's contact information before Nov. 11. For additional information contact Cindy Borrego at 720-971-2271. |
