So I found my wedding dress and bought it this morning. Yes, I know I'm very exciting!
![]() BUT...I had already had my bridesmaid's dresses picked out and the color of the dresses was absolutely PERFECT. Well they tell me today the style of the dress and the color is being discontinued by the end of November. So if we want those dresses my bridesmaid's will have to order them within the next week. The problem with that is, I plan on having my wedding June 5th of next year, IF DF gets stationed in the states. If he doesn't then we will get married at a courthouse and have our actual ceremony at least a year later. We can't find out where he'll be stationed until Feb. So do I make them get the dresses now and hold on to them, hoping I do get married in June or try to find some other dresses that we can purchase when we are for sure set on a date?? And has anyone else ever found burnt orange color bridesmaid's dresses anywhere? The color at Davids Bridal was Persimmon and I can't find anything close to it.

I wouldn't make them buy a dress if your not sure yet. Some people end up saying the want to have a wedding later after have a JOP wedding and never do. Then they would be stuck with a dress they didn't even get to wear. I'm sure you can find another dress that will work for the wedding later when you actually know the details of the wedding.

I wouldn't make them buy them now. First off - a week isn't a lot of time to get together the money for a bridesmaid dress. And second, not everyone is the same size all the time, so even if you have your wedding in July - what fits your bridesmaids now may not fit them then, and that would really suck for someone to have bought the dress now and then have to pay to have it altered (if it even can be) later.
I know you're in love with the bridesmaid dresses, but you have a lot of time still. You'll find something else.

Yea I'm thinking the same thing about money and if someone gains weight or loses weight. I just haven't had any luck finding dresses in the burnt orange color. i just wish they'd of kept at least the dress or the color..but nope they get rid of both of em.

That sucks they are discontinuing the style and color you liked.
But I agree, you should wait until you know for sure what is happening.

Definately wait. It's not enough time for people to come up with the money. Plus some ladies may gain weight, lose weight, maybe even get pregnant. I'm sure you will find something else you like. Sometimes when things like this happens it's because you're meant to find a better dress for your wedding party.

I would not make them buy the dresses now - thats alot of money to ask of someone in a week.
As far as the burnt orange I saw a TON of it while looking for my wedding dress. ((My wedding dress is actually a bridesmaids dress))
