Budget!?

I hope this isn't too personal! If you don't wanna share that's fine but I was curious what everybody's budget is for the big day?

$20K ish.

I never thought it would be that much or that we'd somehow save that much.

Our venue is actually a beach house for the week so it's a few thousand less than that if you only count the night of the wedding. Still, it's expensive and we've cut a lot of corners.

I'm thinking it will be about 7-12k but it all depends on if we decide to have a formal reception or just set up a family member's backyard for the reception. My aunt is doing a lot of hand-made items for it; centerpieces, flowers, etc. and I have a lot of connections throughout my family and family friends, so I'll probably be on the lower end of that.

That was my thinking too. I seriously have no idea how we've spent this much money.

Our cake, photography, hair/makeup, and officiant are free. We're using fake flowers, for a few reasons.

DF and I both come from small towns, so everybody knows everybody, and if you don't know them, somebody else does and can get you the same deal One of the many perks of small town living Plus the prices are sooo much cheaper, and you get a lot of acreage to work with somewhere within the family no doubt. I have a family member that owns a forest up there from generations down that the county park keeps waiting for him to die to get, but they aren't budging because they enjoy hunting the deer too much It's really hilly though, so I can't use their land for the reception :/

We spent about $6000 and our wedding turned out beautiful. I handmade our invitations, our favors, and lots of other things. Our photographer was a wedding gift from a friend. BUT we only had 50 people, so it was easy to create a beautiful wedding on a small budget with such a small amount of people. We still had a fully catered meal, an open bar, and beautiful fresh flower arrangements. (the flowers were probably the biggest expense, but it was so worth it!)

If you want to save money, you really need to look into ways to do things for yourself!
