any tips/ideas for a JP wedding?? - Weddings

So DF and I are getting married by a JP at his parent's house in March 2010. He's taking a week's leave after he gets back from Afghanistan, (no exact dates yet!) then he has to go back to AK to change his orders to add me so we can move to CA in May. We're PCS'ing to his new station there. Needless to say it's going to be short and sweet in March. We're planning on having a real wedding after we get settled, but sometimes those things never happen, so I want to make this as nice as possible. I just wanted to hear from any of you who got married this way, and hear any of your ideas. TIA!

we had a cute little back yard wedding at my fathers in may! done by a minister but essentially the same as jp just a different place! we had just family and like 1 friend each! and had a small arch that my dad built for us! and then had the food inside and had a professional photographer! we want a bigger wedding too but since we dont know if its going to happen we had the pictures taken at this one too!

We got married inside of my parent house since my dad didnt have time to make the backyard look presentable. My moms friend decorated the house with things we bought and we got a wedding cake from walmart. My moms friend from her work married us. We only invited my family and a couple of friends each and had dinner at a family owned Italian Resturaunt nearby(way cheaper then catering or renting out a place). We had a photographer take pictures of the ceremony and at a local park. We did this since we have no plans of having a big wedding.

I had a JOP wedding at my mother in laws house with just my close family (mom dad and sister and his close family mom dad gmaw 1 brother and 2 cousins and his neices and newphew but they were in the room playing) it was like the longest 15-20 minutes of my life lol i screwed up my vows cried the whole room was laughing at me but it was fun and worth it im having a formal wedding ceremony 5/7/2011 and i didnt even wear a white dress i wore a pasley print moxi dress with hot pink flip flops then the following weekend my parents threw us a surprise wedding party with all the wedding decorations because my mother in law didnt decorate i didnt make a huge deal about this one im just more worried about the other one that i will be planning from japan!!! YIKES! but congrats and good luck!
