JOP weddings? - Weddings

Can anyone tell me information on JOP weddings? DB and I are talking about it--in the near future

but I don't know about what all it entails

. Advice? Tips? I tried doing some research but it was hard to find legitimate answers. Thanks in advance

What do you want to know? You go there, they give you your vows if you want. You sign the papers, your witnesses sign the papers, and you're done.

depends on the state, but in VA we went to the courthouse, filled out some paperwork, and then went down the street to a lawyer who married us... took about an hour. And cost about $50.

That's what I was wondering. I didn't know if there was anything else that we had to do prior.

You have to get your marraige license first, I believe. Call and ask!

Some states have a waiting period between getting the marriage license and getting married. Here in Texas, you have to wait 72 hours, which can be waived for AD military, and it expires after 30 days. Check your state or county website, it should give you the info.

I had a hard time finding info about JOP weddings wen we were planning it, if you cant find legit info on the net, what i did was made tons of phone calls. Try contacting the state civil offices to get more info.
I got married JOP style in san diego and there was a site i can go on and print out the marriage license application, and ill i did was make an appointment with the offices and wen we got there we gave them our paperwork i printed online and we got married all within a few minutes.
Maybe your parents can help you? if thats possible, they can point u in the right direction also!
