just a few questions - Weddings

Me and DF are planning on getting married soon. But i want a huge wedding and we aren't sure exactly when he will be back. We are waiting on orders but we have been waiting on them for a while. The orders are to transfer him back to the us. We are hoping anyway that no word is good word. Anyway, i am wondering if it would be stupid to be getting quotes of things and maybe go ahead and make the guest list. And look at places that we want to get married so all we have to do is set the date and send out invites. I have the style of dress i want but i dont even want to get a dress until the date is set. Am i being stupid or should i do that.

I don't think your being stupid! I think you should get some quotes, atleast get a quote on the dress aswell- draft a guest list and yeah.. have some fun with it! Absolutely no reason not to.

ok, well i was just making sure. i just want to make sure everything is planned incase they decide to keep him in germany and we decide for me to move over there.

I would do everything you can do with out having to commit to a date and then once you have a date it would be very easy to finish the rest of it.

Where abouts in Germany is he in?!

Believe me- you could leave it all until you get the date- but you will be overwhelmed with everything. There is never enough time. Lol i waited til i got the date and um- well lets just say, I got married in Vegas, in a what i was wearing the whole day- which was a black polka dotted dress, and he got married in jeans, base ball cap and shirt. Hhaha- do as much as you can now.

yeah i thought i could pick out what kind of everything i wanted and it would make it a hell of a lot easier.

It doesn't hurt to get quotes. I don't know your situation, but here's what I did when I didn't know his "for sure" come home date. I booked what I thought was a "safe date". Then everyone I booked, I made sure it was written in the contract that if we had to push the date back, no deposits or money would be lost. When I explained the military, everyone was very accomodating. And hey, there's no date on a dress! Good luck with everything!

does anyone have anysites for military themed wedding? I want to do the airforce as our theme, my favorite color is blue anyway. i found one site but i only like their garters. Tell me what you think.

Holy crap. I didn't realize how much it takes to plan a wedding until today. I am sitting here trying to just make little plans and i am so overwhelmed. There is so much to do and so much i have no idea about. Like the cocktail time or whatever it is called. I dont know what to do. I want to have the wedding at 5 but that seems to late for a wedding, cocktail time, pics, and 2 receptions. OMG, someone please help me. THanks
