how do i ask...or do i?

ok well DF just recently proposed and we are waiting about 2 years to get married.... well we have talked a lot about our wedding and i would like 3 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen... well i have my girls picked out( my cuzin, and 2 best friends) well DF has one and maybe 2 guys picked out... im not crazy about one of them cuz he isn't accountable for anything!!... and i dont want to take that chance for my wedding!! well anyway.... my brother.. well half brother.. is 23 and means so much to me!! i would really like him to be a part of my wedding.. well DF cant come up with any other guys to put up there with him ....so im wondering if its ok for me to ask DF to have my brother to be a part of the wedding and if so how do i ask? im confortable talking to him about stuff... this just seems a little odd.... like im taking over our wedding... i'd invite about 60 ppl and thats JUST FAMILY!! ..(i have a large family!!) and DF has a list of like 20.. on top of all of that... my brother has been in prison for 2 years due to drugs... so DF hasn't ever met him so is it ok for me to ask?.... like DF told me to plan this the way i wanted and he just needed to know where to be and when.... so i just dont want to over take OUR wedding! any help??

Of course it is ok to ask. It is your wedding, too! I'd just tell him that you'd like your brother to be a groomsmen & just see what he says.

yeah.. i know that is what i need to do its just came off odd in my head... like umm would you mind my brother whom youve never met and who is freaking out over us being engaged.. worse than my mom .... was a groomsman in our wedding? .. its been a looong day!!

Just ask him. I basically told my df that my brother would be one of his groomsmen whether he liked it or not Of course, he didn't mind at all. I'm having his sister be one of my bridesmaids and didn't mind when he asked me about her. Just go for it, I'm sure he'll be fine with it. Congrats on your engagement though! We just got engaged too and we're not getting married for about a year and half because of deployment. I can't wait to start planning though!

Doesn't it feel weird sometimes when you have to think about so many details for a wedding? When we got married, something always caught me off guard. Oh, I have to ask someone to be an usher?! I have to pick out a brand of champagne? Open back chairs or not? White or wheat bread at the reception?

We got engaged March 11th... so it's only been a few weeks. I'm already starting to get ideas for the wedding though even though it's so far away

We got engaged on March 17th!!.. One week ago today!... we have a little over 2 years before the wedding and im doing the same thing!!! we are thinking of dates in 2008... we like june 11th b/c thats when we met online.. but thats a wednesday! and we like july 11th cuz thats when we met in person but i dont like the 7/11 convient store wedding date!! so we want it in june, july or august! but his b-day is june 15th and mine is july 1st so its all going to be together!! any date ideas? i'd like a friday or saturday and it will be outside somewhere here in GA!!

You guys met online?! We did too! :inshock This is so weird! lol I agree about the 7/11 date though We're going to do ours in Sept. or Oct. of 2007 in CA. I've always wanted a fall wedding with all those pretty colors. We want to do ours outside too. I can't wait!
