For WWII soldier's widow, a 60 year mystery solved

There's a two part story to this so I'm not going to post both articles but I thought I would at least share the links because it's just too heartbreaking and yet heartwarming not to share.

Cliff notes version of it: This WWII widow waited 60 years to find out what happened to her husband. When she did finally find out what happened she learned that he's a huge honored hero in the town where his plane went down. They were married for only 6 weeks before he was deployed and she never remarried because to her he stayed married to her, why should she leave him.

    Part 1:
For WWII soldier's widow, a 60-year mystery finally solved - CBS News
    Part 2:
On the Road: WWII pilot's sacrifice honored in France - CBS News Video

Warning: You will most likely cry. I was watching it tonight and even the news anchor had tears in his eyes when they cut back it him. If you only have time to watch or read one article watch the second video, I think it's the best.

That's a really sad story. I'm glad she finally got some closure after all this time.

Oh, I hope that she goes to this village in France. I wish I could send her a plane ticket.

I thought that's where she was in the second video...? Did I get lost somewhere? I refuse to watch it again...no more tears today.

oooh that explains it. I was thinking, "I know it's almost 6 am, but surely I'm not loosing it that bad"

In the video, she actually did go visit the village, which I think was good for her and the village.

Bad Sally, watch the video! No really though it's great, and she's been to the village at least once a year since she found out I think. The love and admiration the villagers have for her husband and in turn her is so amazing, it's like they've accepted her as their family.
