Wanted: Dog Sitter ASAP *location somewhat flexible*
I have a strange request ladies...
I want desperately to take a weekend getaway trip with my husband but I don't have anyone I can trust to stay with my dog. He has major separation anxiety and is older so a kennel is an absolute last resort. I'm looking for someone in Kansas City, MO and it would basically be for Sunday the 18th. We'll arrive around noon and check into our hotel and if you could just stay with the dog at the hotel until around 8 or 9pm that would be all I'd ask. I'll pay you if you want and you can feel free to order food or whatever.. We'll have our DS's with us and I'd even be willing to bring a Wii with us for you to play and a DVD player to watch movies if you want. He won't need to go out for very long or very often. He will probably just curl up on a pillow and go to sleep. I'll have his portable kennel which is his "room" and he might even just put himself in there since its his "safe place". I'll bring his food and measure it out and everything so all you'd have to do is put some warm water on it. I would prefer that he not be around kids only because I am paranoid. He does ok if I am there and can watch him, but he can be skittish if he feels like he's being cornered or trapped. If its a baby or an older kid, that's a totally different story. So far his only issues have been toddlers. Sunday is the day I have planned for us to go to Worlds of Fun and he can't go there. Everywhere else he could technically go since he is a trained service dog. I may be looking at the Colorado area, St Louis or up in Minnesota if Kansas City doesn't work out (or anywhere else that's within an 8ish hour drive from NE). Basically, I need to get away with my husband but I know he hates having to carry the dog everywhere. I just can't leave the dog with the person we were going to leave him with. I just don't trust him and can't even begin to fathom something happening to my baby right now. EDIT: see, he's cute!! ![]()

I hope you find someone. I'd watch him in a heartbeat if I was closer. I have two puppies too, and I can't bear to kennel them and now that we're in a new place all of our vacations and time need to revolve around the puppies and who's going to watch them and where they'll go. And my dogs are a little toddler skittish too...or ADD little child skittish. No kids for my puppies.

Aww thanks hun
I wish GA wasn't so far away! I hope I can find someone too... I mean, it wont be the end of the world if I don't. I just feel horrible because my DH knows I'm planning a surprise trip, the leave is already filed and he was excited about our first (ever) dog-free getaway. And now, after the events of today I just cannot leave him with this melon-head we'd lined up. |

If you were here, he could come stay with my little pack. My babies would love him!
