What are the chances?

DH and I are trying to get pregnant before he deploys for 7 months. I am a little bit concerned because bad pegnancies run in our family. My mother actually got so sick that she had to check into the hospital every Friday-Sunday for the last 3 months because of dehydration from throwing up. They have my cousin on total bedrest, no laudry, picking up kids, etc. They brought her husband home (Army) to help her because they have 2 very young kids as well.

I was wondering what the Navy finds as justification to send you husband home during a pregnancy. Anyone know? I am a little nervous about being pregnant with him gone, but I am more concerned if something happens and he doesn't "qualify" to come home.

Well I see no reason for the navy to be tight with their standards but the army wouldn't send my husband home when I was on full bed rest.

Oh no! I am so sorry! They only let my cousin come home for a few weeks to get Johanna settled with her parents. He had to go back last week.

yeah it was really hard, I was in germany all my family were in the states and I was confined to my couch, not allowed to move period. I was allowed up for 2 hours once a day that was it. They wanted me to pee in a bedpan xP

In the navy I think it is up to the command on what they want to do. I don't think there is any written rule on if they have to send them home. Have you ever been pregnant before? Personally I don't think you can really go off your family history on if your pregnancy itself will be good or bad. Every single pregnacy in my family has been different. Even all three of mine have been completely different from one to the other. Hopefully you will be okay and not have to worry about to much. If all else TTC when he is going to be home.

It is up to each individual command. During the 6 month deployment we went through, DH's command said wife and or child had to be deathly ill.. not just hospitalized. They were not family friendly in any way shape or form.

I know it's hard with him being gone, but with Navy life, you've gotta count on him not being here for things. It sucks, but it sure makes the times that he is home even more special.

That said, I really do hope it all works out for you and that you have a smooth pregnancy when you guys do conceive.
