    Help! Imodium while pregnant?

    Advertisements
There is still a slight chance that I could be pregnant, but still no positive test. Still could be too early to test positive at about 6 dpo. That said, I keep having that intense cramping like AF is here, but every time I go to the bathroom, there is no AF, but diarrhea instead. Ugh!

Today, I have to take my students on a field trip, and they are a tough group of kids. It would not be safe or in anyone's best interest to get a sub. Is it safe to take something like imodium while preggo? I would rather play it on the safe side, just in case I am, but at the same time, I really need to get through this 3 hours with the kids without having to use the restroom.

    From Drugs.com
FDA pregnancy category C. It is not known whether Imodium will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant while using this medication. Loperamide can pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing baby. You should not breast-feed while you are using Imodium. Do not give this medicine to a child without medical advice.

When in doubt, call your doctor or neighborhood pharmacist.

Thank you for the links. Very helpful. I called the pharmacy and they said immodium is okay, but none of the other anti-diarrheal stuff. Phew!

Glad you got the answer you wanted but just wanted to say, every single time I get my period I have crazy diarrhea. Idk ever know if the cramps are from that or the oncoming period, so maybe you're just about to start.

You wouldn't have implanted yet anyway, so it wouldn't hurt anything.
