Temping ?
Ok... I decided to start temping today. I haven't went out and got the BBT thermometer yet but I used the digital one we have since it also holds the temp. Well today it said 97.3 do I add a degree? Isn't that kinda low?
When you get ready to ovulate does it go up or down? Whats the norm temp for when you start to ovulate? I tried to read up on it on Fertility Friend and all but it confuses me so I figured I would ask people I knew that could write it out in terms I understood ![]() Thanks

There is no normal temp for ovulation. Your temp is YOUR temp. It basis it off YOUR temp and no one elses. You are looking for 3 elevated temps in a row and that confirms ovulation. The first month you get to know your baseline temps and such. The thing with temping is you can average it, add a degree etc. you want YOUR temp. Everyones temp is different.

you have whats called your baseline (coverline) temperature.... when you ovulate, your temp goes up for at least 3 days in a row... if your temp spikes one day, but goes back to normal the next day,and the next day after, you did not ovulate. if it stays elevated for at least 3 days, then drops, chances are, you ovulated.... if you conceive, i believe your temp will stay elevated for the rest of your cycle... i know mine is.
if you want to go look at my chart/calendar, it might help you. |

You cannot really PREDICT ovulation well with temping. You can CONFIRM it with temping. Once your temp raises and stays elevated for 3 consecutive days then it will confirm you have indeed ovulated
