Ready but worried
DH and I are officially ready to TTC. Awesome, right? But there's one huge problem. My job has gone from low stress to super stress (I work for a school district that had to make a lot of budget cuts, so I have tons more responsibilities than I used to have.) I am really worried about getting pregnant with this amount of stress in my life, I'm worried I won't be able to handle my job responsibilities if pregnancy is rough on me (morning sickness, fatigue etc.) I'm worried I won't be able to take the time off I'd need for doctor's appts. And I'm mostly worried that all the daily stress I now have will cause a miscarriage
![]() DH and I had a long talk about it last night and for awhile we were thinking of putting off TTC. But I really don't like the idea of my job getting in the way of my family, my family is more important and I don't currently plan to return to my job after having our first. Oh, and trying to get a reduction in responsibilities or anything is not possible - everyone in the system is working like crazy and will not be sympathetic to me feeling overworked. Because it's a school district, the only "proper" time to resign is over the summer. But the stress is really taking a toll on me. I have a near constant headache. My muscles are tensing up. I sleep horribly and dream about work all night. I hate it. But I also hate the idea of being a quitter. Any advice or perspective is appreciated! |

Awesome you are TTC!
![]() I have no advice, but an old friend worked at the CDC, she was the manager and she worked straight up until about 3 weeks til her due date. She was completely exhausted but she has a healthy baby ![]() If you can't do less work then your gonna let work over take family. kwim?

i think you can adapt to any situation. if you want to conceive, do it. your job can't discriminate against you for being pregnant. it doesnt change your quality of work. plus not all women get nausea, and vomitting. you never know..
