ovulation predictor - Trying to Conceive

Has anyone ever used an ovulation predictor kit? If so, did you find it helpful or a waste of money? If I decide to try it, do I need to start using it months in advance?

They are very useful ind etermining if you are ovulating. I did use them but then invested in a clearplan easy fertility monitor because I did have infertility issues and the monitor would let me know when I was high fertility and when I was actually ovulating so it gave me a bigger window. They usually come with 7 test strips (the ones you buy in the store) and normally it is good to start testing around the 9th day of your cycle (day 1 is the first day of your period) Then test until you get a positive. Once it reads positive (the test line is the same color or darker then the control line) you will likely ovlate within 12-48 hours and then is the time to start doing the deed.

I used them once and it didn't help me. I started charting at Fertility Friend and discovered that I ovulate very late in my cycles. It would have cost me a fortune in the sticks since I ovulate around day 23 instead of 14.

If you've never been there it is a very informative sight.

Yeah the sticks can cost a fortune. Which is why I started using the fertility monitor as well. It asks you to test longer

I do not ovulate on day 14 either. I o later as well!

For the OP. If you use them starting on day 9 and no O. Then next month start on day 11 and go from there. You may ovulate later then day 14. There is a thread up top that is sticked about trying to conceive that has alot of info too

I have both the saliva lense.... and I use the opk's I like the opk's better, If you have the money the clearblue easy that Kaymara is talking about is awesome

I used the saliva one , spent $50 on it 4 yrs ago and never spent another dime on ov. tests or preg tests.

2nd, my FRIEND was late!

3rd, my Ovulens doubles as a preg test.
