Traveling with a 6 year old... - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

I'm traveling with my 5 yr 9 month old son tonight to New Jersey via plane. Besides bringing my own Identification, itinery and luggage..lol... and booster seat ..... Do I need to bring his birth certificate to show he's my nino? He doens't have ID and it's been years since I last traveled with him (before 9-11) and so I"m not sure if there's new rules or regulations ... Carmen

You shouldn't have to bring any identification for you 6yr old.... I flew with my 6yr old a couple of months ago and they didn't ask for anything.

You need to have ID of some kind for him. A birth certificate should suffice.

yep. i definitely recommend calling the airline and checking

Maybe it depends on the airline, but I have Never been asked for identification for either of my sons (6yr and 2yr). I usually fly twice a year

We flew with Morissa (10) without any requirements for ID.....
