The Sippy Cup Fiasco- did ya'll hear about this?

I do understand her frustration. Same thing happened to me last time I flew. But they let me go ahead with it.

You know what this whole security thing is a joke they let me through WITH scissors because I had my scrap-booking stuff with me and missed a pair of scissors (I had packed the rest in my luggage). I TOLD them go ahead and keep them they are just cheapy ones. I told THEM I was very sorry to cause trouble. THEY told me go ahead and take them!!!!!! The guy put themback into my scrapping kit these were big ones too not little pinking shears or anything.

So yeah the whole no water in a bottle/sippy cup or formula etc just a freaking joke and I don't feel ANY safer when I fly. If I can bring on board a big ass pair of scissors what are other people getting on board with.

I don't know. It kind of looked to me like she dumped it. I uderstand her frustration with the sippy cup thing. I will be dealing with the same problem in a few months with my little one. i don't think her flashing her credentials was very wise on her part, though. Just because our So's are soldiers does mean they are above the law, just like she isn't above the law.

Why couldn't she just take an empty sippy? She was opening it to DRINK the water? Whatever... I don't believe her because I can tell you right now most women in that situation WOULD have dumped that water. I sincerely doubt she spilled it. They DO have water on the plane, so she was just being difficult and had no foresight. They wouldn't even let me take water for my son's powdered formula, I had to get it on the plane.

I flew with both of my kids a few months ago, now my kids are only 20 months apart, at the time my DD was 2 months & DS was 1 1/2. The security is very unhelpful , they just stared at me struggling to fold my double stroller with two kids in hand, took them a minute to help me out. Made me open up my daughter's bottles again trying to hold 2 kids. It was soo stressful , so if she dumped it I understand, I sure wanted to throw my daughters bottle of water at them

Eh well personally she should have known the rules about flying with liquids. I have flown a few times now with the kids since they've imposed the liquid rules and I just take empty sippy cups, it's really not a hard one to figure out.
