cheap airline tixs - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

What way do you usually purchase airline tixs? Does anyone do military discount flights? We are on a tight budget right now but would really like to go visit some family in GA....any suggestions would be great.

I call all the major airlines and ask about a military discount. Sometimes its they have good specials that are better than the military discount. I also go on line and check prices, but I usually get a better deal on the phone.

I use sidestep.com. Not only does it check the airlines, but also runs your itenerary through popular sites like orbitz. You usually have to call to ask about military discounts/rates, but they don't always save you money... I know Delta was running a special for San Diego to Atlanta for around $200. Sign up for emails to find out about deals. Hope you stumble across a great deal!

I go through cheaptickets.com But mine are normally cheap, because I book months in advance

I usually use orbitz. If I'm flying to TX or UT we'll use Southwest and sometimes their website has good deals.

everytime i try and use the military discount, it ends up being cheaper to buy them off a website.

I usually surf the net on various sites. I buy the most of them from travelocity. Go under flight and then go under fare alert or something like that.

i use kayak.com and then i find the cheapest prices that are pulled up and go to the airline's website because they dont charge a fee like the other websites do, orbitz travelocity etc. they charge a small surcharge for their services. the airline's direct websites dont. also i dont know if you have ever heard of spiritair but my neighbor just told me her friend got tickets to fl for $8 each so $16 round trip. they sometimes have these crazy deals but you have to search them at the right time!! good luck!
