Gate Passes at SD Air Port. . . - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

I am just wonderin' if the San Diego Air Port gives out Gate Passes?? & if I can get one on Monday when I take my Fiance back to the Air Port? Does he have to be in Uniform, or not??

if you have a military ID, yes. if not, no.

Depends on the airline and the security.

We couldn't take Trav to the gate but we were able to pick him up at the gate though.

A friend wasn't able to at ALL due to the ticket agent she got had a bug dead in her arse

we both had to show military ID and orders going "over there" to get one.

Gate passes? as in going through security without a boarding pass? that is TSA regulations, I dont believe there are exceptions to that rule. As far as uniform, I thought service memebers were advised not to travel in uniform...but I'm sure he has to report in his blues.

Didn't matter. They told us no. I had a Id card and so did Anya. They told us since the security level was heightened they wouldn't let us go.

i really dont think so. we have always had to say goodbye to my hubby before he went through the gate, but you can see. my mom says no. she was just at the airport this weekend, and they have a table before you go to the gate to get your carryons and tickets checked and they have a sign that says no one beyond this point without a ticket. i think the only place you can go up to where they are is the comuter airport but i'm not sure about that even.

Yeah is this pass thing just in SD? I have NEVER been allowed past security to say good bye...and I've always had my dependent ID...(married before he joined)

This exception was passed awhile ago. it is for deploying military members. but when it comes down to it, its up to the ticket agent you get. when i flew by myself with the 3 kids, they let my mom go back with me to the gate to help me.
