PRICELINE???

Hii all

So my DH and I are currently living in Great Falls, MT and would like to go home (FT LAUDERDALE,FL) for christmas.. (dec 20-28) buy tickets are $800 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we were interested in using the NAME YOUR ON PRICE feature on priceline. I am a bit hesitant tho.. because we are not to sure how it works....

I was wondering if any of you have used it before and what your experience with it was...

We dont really care about the time we travel, thats why we figuired it would be a good way to go.... However, dont really know how much to bid.. how low we can try to go... and what the pros and cons are...

any advice would be great!!

ps: only on airfares.. we have our parents back home so we dont need car rentals or hotel stay

I have only used it to rent a car, but it was a positive experience. Since you don't care about the travel times, it could be the way to go. I'm not sure how low you should bid starting out, but if it is like the rental cars, you have to wait 24 hours between bids. You basically choose the dates you want to fly and the airports you want to use. Then you put in your payment information and your price. You won't know know anything about the flight until your price is accepted. Good Luck! I plan on doing it again for a rental car for December.

And you could also call the airlines that fly out of GTF like Delta because they offer a military discount.

We used to live in Great Falls. It's always been pricey to fly out of there. If you can drive to Spokane, I would. You can fly Southwest.
