Okay, so will you be going to ski, or just to bum around?
My favorite mountain and town is Steamboat, by far. Second is Keystone/Breck. I think those three are a good balance between quality and price -- I love to ride at Winter Park, but there's not much to do in the town itself. At least, not that I remember from when I was there. On the flip side, the restaurants/shops in Steamboat are pricey. But then, you get to go to the springs, which I absolutely live for. (Not everyone likes natural hot springs, though. Do some research before you decide.) Def. take lessons if you're skiing/riding. And stay in a place with a hot tub, even if it's outdoors. It will be soooo worth it. And another suggestion: Don't pack too many "fancy" clothes, for going out or whatnot. Apres-ski is perfect for leggings and Uggs, but don't worry about getting too dressy (again, depends on where you go and what you're there for). Comfort and warmth is the big thing to think of in winter in CO. HTH! |
