Chicago
devinesgirl<3 and I are taking a trip to Chicago in a week or so and we're trying to figure out how to get to Michigan Avenue from the blue line. Does anyone know? Also does anyone have some tips or places we should check out? We'll only be there for the weekend and are going to the Shedd Aquarium. We're trying to use public transportation for as much of it as we can and the blue line is the easiest route for us. TIA!

Are you going to be on the blue line from O'hare? You can take the blue line to the loop and get off at several different stops but if you want to get to Michigan I recommend getting off at Randolph/Wabash.. it's a blockish walk to Michigan and you come out on Randolph right at Millennium Park (the big silver bean!). Go south a little bit you'll come to the Art Institute. The Shedd, The Field Museum, and The Planetarium are all in a cluster on Lake Shore Drive not far from there. If it's shopping you're after you want to go North on Michigan.

Water Tower Place is on Michigan by the Hancock and also right around it there are tons of shops.. lots of fancy ones
Definitely check that out. I think the American Girl store is on Michigan too. Also State Street has Macy's (which used to be Marshall Fields and is a big Chicago thing) and a lot of other shopping. There's tons of food everywhere.Aside from that and the museums I love the north side. You can take the brown line north and get off around Belmont. Tons of quirky shops and food places. You can see Wrigley Field and the whole wrigleyville bar scene. There's some cool old bookstores. The Chicago Pizza Oven Grinder Co. is amazing. That's on Clark. The Lincoln Park Zoo is free and decent. I don't know there's lots I the city. PM if you have any questions about the cta or anything. Have fun!
