Study Abroad Housing Help - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

This spring I am studying abroad in Florence, Italy for architecture. I will be staying with a host family which I am very excited about. However, I am having trouble thinking of any special concerns I might need to tell the housing coordinator about. This will be my first time traveling abroad and any suggestions about qualities or preferences in housing would be helpful. TIA

That's a good one. I have that, and I don't have any dietary needs or allergies. There are two sections I have to fill in about 1) interests and hobbies and 2) special concerns and/or preferences. I just don't want to forget something.

Smoking, pets, freedom to come and go, access to food between meals (perhaps having your own shelf in the fridge or cupboard?), privacy (will you be sharing a room or not?).

For my exchange students, they had their own private room and complete access to everything in the house. Some host families are not as open.

Oh yes, the religion! Make clear your preference - if your host family goes to church regularly and you prefer not to attend or vice versa.

YW! If I wasn't hosting an exchange DD, I wouldn't have thought of it either. I had to go review her profile sheet, to see what questions were on it.

Well I really appreciate it. I've never traveled abroad or lived with a host family, so this is a big help.
