Boston?????

J and I are planning a trip to Boston for Thanksgiving weekend. It's also his birthday weekend. He's been there lots of times, and is well acquainted with the typical guy stuff (bars and baseball) in the area. But it's all pretty much new to me (was there once when I was a kid). I know I want to have a beer at Cheers. Otherwise I am open to suggestions. What should I see? Where should I go? What are some nice hotels in fun neighborhoods? Know a good spa in the city (I'm thinking of surprising him with a couples massage)?

Newbury Street has great shopping, restaurants and day spas.

I mainly engaged in boy activities when I was there (bars, Fenway, the church where they filmed Boondock Saints ), but I had a great shopping experience on Newbury!

Faneuil Hall and the market right next to it (great shops and they have a really cool food market there too with all sorts of different items!)

If you can make a trip outside of Boston I highly suggest going and visiting Plymouth, MA so you can see Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II.

You will LOVE IT! I have family up there and I haven't been up to visit for a few years but I never get tired of that city!
