Traveling to Augusta, GA - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

Well, I'm thinking of flying to see DH over Labor Day weekend. The problem isn't price, it's my 14 month old son. I have no family who can watch him for 5 days, so DS would have to come with me. I don't plan on renting a car, I'm 22, and most rental companies require one to be 25. Plus, I don't plan on travelling a whole lot. Just enjoying a weekend with DH.

So, what I'm wondering is if anyone knows about a taxi service in the area that will provide a pick up at AGS and come with a toddler seat? I can't carry DS, our stuff for a week, AND a toddler seat around. You can PM me info if you like, I don't mind. I just want to know if I should tell DH that the trip isn't possible. I appreciate any help!!

Look at this site. I know they will help people flying into ATL ...come down to Columbus (Fort Benning)..or they may know someone who can help.

I don't know about taxi's but you should stay at West Bank Inn if you aren't planning on traveling that much. It's on Washington Road and there are SOOOO many freaking places to eat around there it's mind boggling. The Inn costs about 53 bucks a night but it's so quiet and really nice!

Enjoy yourself!!!!! Augusta is actually a really nice town! I've been there twice to visit my dh.

$53 a night sounds good to me.

Thanks! I still haven't made any reservations because of the whole needing a car seat issue.

If it all works out, I'll look up West Bank!

P.S. Enterprise will let your rent a car once you are 18 but they add a fee to it since you are under the age of 25. Just so you know!

I think it's worth it. I hate being constricted to a place because I have no transportation and cabs...eh Not for me. Besides...who knows about cab fare. It could end up costing you just as much to get a cab than it does to rent a car. How long are you staying there 3 or 4 days?

I say get a car. I think you'll be happier with it. But if you can't afford it that's totally understandable! Have a wonderful time!!!!!
