US Airways?? - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

I've never flown with them before and I'll be going on that airline for the first time on Tuesday. DF says they are the worst...I know they charge for even your first checked bag...But has anyone flown with them? Are they any good?

I fly with US Airways wherever possible - I've never had a problem with them.

They are fine. Also A LOT of airlines are charging for your first checked bag now. I just flew airtran and it was $15 for the first bag.

Delta even charges for one checked bag now

I will be flying with them as well on Friday.

I've had horrible luck with US Airways. Flying to/from Santa Barbara is a headache as I have been late/missed my connection in Phoenix about 50% of the time. It makes me want to kiss the pilot when he gets me someplace on time.

Oh, and they do charge for checked baggage. $15 but a lot of airlines (if not all) charge this now.

US Airways tends to be tragically late if you're not flying out of one of their hubs, like Charlotte. I was almost always on time coming out of Charlotte, but going to Charlotte from Houston...I was often late or almost ALWAYS on a flight they were 5-8 people overbooked on.

I just flew with them. My first flight was late and then my connection was cancelled and I ended up stuck in Pheonix over night.

Luckily, they gave us vouchers for the hotel or all hell might have broke lose. I had appointments the next day and ended up having to cancel my earliest one.

Fee for checked bag is the norm, it happens with a lot of airlines.

I flew with them 4 times so far. They are ok. I noticed on some flights they overbook people and people end up getting bumped pretty often. I missed a flight once and they booked me on next available flight w/o a fee.

I used them to go to Italy and back. Did not pay for luggage but that's because I was international. I had no problems
