I'm so excited! DF and I wanted to go somewhere during his R&R just to relax and have a mini-vacation just the two of us. Well we decided on Vegas, neither one of us have been there yet.

So to all of you who have been to Vegas, where are some must places to go see and do? And any advice on where to stay?

There are so many places to stay. We go once or twice a year depending on if I end up having to go for business or not. We always stay at MGM but a lot of people don't like it. My Aunt was a professional gambler and she liked that place the best. I have always just liked it and he loves the poker room there the best. In September we stayed three places, we liked MGM the best. For great hotel deals in Vegas check www.smartervegas.com. They often have great deals. When we went in September several of the Cirque de Soliel shows had half off for Military. We saw both Ka and Mystere half off. If Mystere is stll half off I would totally recommend it. The other place I love to search for Vegas tips and deals is www.lasvegasadvisor.com. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions, I woulld be more than happy to help

I went once a few years back I didn't stay on the strip if you are then the stratosphere is where part of our group stayed it was decent with cheaper rooms, Caesars palace was awesome but $$$, with I think Planet Hollywood hitting in the middle if you want a nicer room that's not to terrible in price. I felt a place you had to see was inside The Venetian, if you want to go out they have probably the best club I've been to, Tao pricey but it was a good night! (not a good time for an insane bachelorette party the night before thought lol) You can spend a day or too just walking around and looking at everything inside the casino's most have really nice malls inside, fremont street has the canopy of light which is cool, and there are tons of shows... You will have no problem finding tons to do!

We stayed at the Paris which was great because it is right in the center of the strip so it's close to everything. I don't know if you know but call the Venetian they give a military discount and you can get a room for $80 a night, which is awesome for that hotel. We didn't do it because you can only get one room at that price and we needed two.

DH and I are going to Vegas in less than 2 weeks. We're staying at Planet Hollywood, right now they're including a bottle of liquor in the room price. Which is nice since drinks are super expensive. I also found some awesome deals for going out. At Voodoo lounge we're paying $60 each which includes our cover and all we can drink except shots. For daytime stuff I recommend going up in the Eiffel Tower and riding in a gondola.
