Priceline?
Has anyone ever used Priceline to book a hotel? I have and had good luck but it's been years. Priceline just makes me nervous because you don't know what hotel you are going to get, you can't cancel, they charge you right then and there, etc. I am headed to Denver for work and a little mini vacation by myself next month. The hotel where the convention is averages $180 a night. I am staying 4 extra nights on my own and refuse to pay that. Clark Howard (Love him) talked about a site called biddingfortravel.com the other night and it's where people post what they got hotels for on priceline. Folks are getting super nice hotels downtown for $65 a night including the one where the convention is. Clark Howard says he books 95% of his hotels on Priceline. I am just such a nervous nelly. Does anyone have any recent experiences?

I always just use hotels.com or I go to the actual hotels website and see what kinda of price they offer for Military. I have had some good luck with just going straight through the hotels recently.

Thanks I will try hotels.com. Unfortunately, I am going alone and we are not married so I can use the Military discount but I might try and see what folks offer AAA members as well.

I am going to try that tonight when I get home from work. It been so long since I have traveled anywhere other than Vegas. I go to Vegas a couple of times a year and last year we drove to the Grand Canyon but that was just for one night so hotel wasn't that big of a deal plus we were splitting it. Now, I am staying 7 nights and won't be splitting it price is more of a consideration. Thanks for your advice. I am going to try Hotels.com and AAA tonight.
