All Inclusive? - Travel, Leisure & Vacations

J and I are looking at booking a trip though AFVC and Im getting overwhelmed with all the options

I have not traveled much as an adult and was wondering - are all-inclusive resorts worth it? When are they a good idea and when is it better to pay just for what you consume/drink/do?

Im heading to bed now, but any advice would be appreciated!!!!

(oh, we'd def be eating and drinking our fair share, if that factors into the calculation)

We've done both... but the last place we stayed at in Cabo was all inclusive, and we LOVED it. Of course, what we drank alone probably made them realize that they were losing money, but hey, its Mexico.

If you in a place where you plan on travelling outside of the hotel a lot, and will be eating meals elsewhere, its probably not worth it. But, if your just lounging by the pool, going on quick outings, and coming back to the hotel to eat, party, etc every night-- you will probably really like it. I WOULD check the reviews on their food first though. The first time we did all-inclusive, the food SUCKED!

We'd probably only venture out for activity stuff - atvs, that kind of thing. Not for food if we'd already paid for it.

The last time we went, we bought a week of my best friends time share there.. BUT... the first few times we went... we stayed at a great hotel. Let me search for it, and I'll send ya the link!

Its a beautiful hotel! We've really enjoyed it there! Of course, we enjoy Cabo so much that this year I think we are going to buy into their time share, so I would suggest that ANYONE visit there!

Trey went to Jamaica and did that a couple summers ago. Definitely check with her!

I agree.

AP and I did all-inclusive in Jamaica in February. We enjoyed it... The food was good, not always incredible, but good. However, if you're big into wine or something, the list will most likely be limited. Have fun!

I haven't been to Jamaica since I was little... but its very high on our list of places to travel to in the next few years!

We went to sandals (all inclusive) in Jamaica and it was amazing!! It was so nice to not even have to carry money around, especially when you are spending a good portion of your time in your bathingsuit and dont want to have to carry stuff with you on the beach. They also werent allowed to accept tips so we really never needed cash for anything at all. the only time we used cash was when we tipped the guys at the airport, and when we bought stuff at the gift shop to bring home with us. I would definitely recommend all inclusive.
