Good prices for lodging at Camp Pendleton?

I'm married to a cheap ass Marine. I want to visit for 4th of July but he's afraid it will be too expensive. I got a great rate on airfare but can't find anything good for hotels. By good I mean preferrably $60 or less.

Anyone have any ideas?

You can stay at the lodge on base... I think it's 70-75 per night.

Are you referring to the cottages? I called one today and they're booked. I'll try the other one tomorrow but I called after hours.

THe only place you can stay at in ca for that cheap is on base. Better hurry and book, it's first come first serve actually families and Marines moving get first rights.

The beach lodging is usually booked months in advance. Also, if Ward is full, you can stay at the other bases (Miramar MCAS is about 20-30 minutes away) or Naval Station San Diego (which is about 50 minutes away).

I stayed at two hotels since I ame out there. 1 was $40 a night and one was $67. That was in San Diego so maybe that makes a difference. I've learned to be very resourceful since marrying him. They weren't half bad either.

When I was out at Christmas Ward Lodging on Camp Pendleton was the cheapest we found. I had to stay at the Motel 6 in Oceanside for the first few nights because Ward Lodging was full (I was out here 2 weeks), but I think it was only about $10 more than Ward Lodging....I think it was around $80 a night.

I just stayed at that Motel 6 two weeks ago. I think it was 95 for the two of us, and it was really quite gross in my opinion.
I don't know, I really cheap too, so spending 95 was a lot for me (we didn't decide until last minute that I would drive out, Ward lodging was full) and I was really disappointed in how small the room was/how bad the bed was/how creepy wet the floor felt, etc., etc,
