Quick and easy summer cake...YUMMY! - Sweets & Treats

DF makes me make one of these cakes EVERY month to bring to the station for all they guys, so I figure I'd share with you ladies!..

First off just go to the store an pick out either a white cake, orange cake, or a lemon cake.

then you need at least one pack of jello (depends on how much you want!) You pick the jello according to the cake you get IE orange cake, orange jello.

(when I use lemon jello I use white cake just because it's soo much lemon with the cake and the jello.)

Then you need a tube of cool whip

Now just bake your cake then you want to poke all kinds of holes in the cake, I usually use a fork and just go crazy! Make your jello, but don't use cold water only use hot! Then pour the jello all over the cake. Let the cake cool completely and then "frost" with your whipped topping...soooo yummy!

OMG that sounds utterly delicious right now!!!!! I need to try this.. only I love chocolate lol.

I bet white cake with choclate pudding would be good. Or white cake with vanilla or french vanilla pudding... ooooh

We call them Jello cakes. My mom makes them all the time, and makes them for years. You can also use strawberry jello with vanilla cake.. and that sort of stuff.

You can really play around with it.

My mom would make one for my sister's birthday every year, which fell just before Christmas. She would do red and green jello over a white cake, so it was all Christmas colors. They are yummy!

yup, all of them are so yummy. I just like the lemon or orange for summer because it gives you all around fruity, crisp, summer taste! this is making my mouth water just thinking about it!
