Diet coke Chocolate cake

Has anyone every made this? If so how did it turn out? I made one last night but it came out really dry. Did I maybe cook it too long or was it the fact I used the diet coke? I like my cakes moist and this one isn't moist at all (well a tiny bit). I have heard this doesn't really change a cake all that much so I figured it would be about the same as I normally make it.

I made one and it was awful...my kids wouldnt even eat it.

Well I put chocolate frosting on it and its edible but I will NEVER make it again. I like my light and fluffy perfect cake

I haven't had the diet coke one. Just the regular coke one and I thought it tasted pretty good.

Well I just took a bite from the middle of the cake and it wasn't too bad its just the outside thats a little dried out. It's not at thick in the pan as normal cakes so maybe I just cooked it too long but the inside seems fine.

I've never heard of the diet one, just regular soda.

It's better with Regular coke... My sil makes it all the time and puts cool whip on it rather than frosting.

I make the Brownies with the coke ... they turn out great... they always get eaten up!

I buy the brownie mix that comes with the icing packet... cause I liked iced brownies.

DOes that one call for just the cake mix and 7-up?

There is another one my family loves... the "Just add water" Angel Food cake mix (Don't add water) and 1 can of Cherry Pie filling... That is a good cake!
