    I’m in.

I haven’t decided where my loyalties lie (I was so tribal about Argentina for the men’s, really I should swing the other way and back the Matildas for the women’s...but on the other hand I only have the Albi shirt... ) but I’m in.

Bring it. France are off to a great start.

Argentina vs Japan 0-0. I missed that game though.

    USA just beat Thailand 13-0.

That was stunning. That was beautiful. I knew they were very good, but what a clinic.

The other game I was interested in in was Italy v Australia - final result 2-1. I expected Italy to beat Australia, but having it happen practically in the 95th minute is a little galling.

What a win for them! 3 goals unanswered goals! Kerr is a beast.

Sam Kerr would be an utter beast at any sport she took up (it runs in the family; both her father and her brother were very VERY good players in a different football code, and her brother has the equivalent of a Super Bowl ring) but every time I hear anything about her I’m a little more pleased she picked this one. Just a little.

Damn it, pibas. One day, when the AFA actually gives the slightest hint of a shit about the domestic women’s league, Argentina may be a better side. Maybe.

It’s still theoretically possible for Argentina to progress to the next stage, but everything would have to go right for them to do it. I can’t see that happening.

On the bright side, this means my loyalties won’t be split any more. Australia might make it (depending on the last group stage results...the Matildas should beat Jamaica) but Argentina probably won’t. I can concentrate on Australia here, and transfer my many Albiceleste feelings to the Copa America.

Argentina didn’t look terrible but there was definitely something off. Too bad they already played the teams that will probably advance.

It’s amazing to see these women play when I know soccer is STILL being developed in most countries. I love it!

My son plays soccer, so we've been catching games when we can. He's impressed by the women's team, and wants to be a professional player himself. We'll see how that goes lol.

Im so in love with you hunny. I know I have never felt this powerful of a love before, I have only thought it was possible for those rare lucky few. And now I think we have it. Or are we just now part of the lucky rare few? XOXO Love you hun. -DH 9/8/11
