Hi Moms!
I'm slowly making my way through all the moms of special needs kiddos post, but wanted to just say hello. I have three kiddos, two who have a medical diagnosis. My oldest son, who will be 9 this Sunday, was born with a complex congenital heart defect. He has had two open heart surgeries, and life has been kind of rough with him. My other son, who is 7, has a whole alphabet of things going on with him. He's been diagnosed as being bi-polar, obsessive compulsive, pervasive developmental disorder, and auditory processing, and he's color blind to bat. I teach preschool to special needs children as well. But I just wanted to lend a helping ear out to all of you who seem like your lives are probably as consumed as mine is with a military spouse and a special needs kiddo. We know all about IEP's and 5o4 plans, medicating, and medicaid, all that good stuff that comes along with being a super mom. I look forward to getting to know you all better.

They haven't diagnosed your 7 year old with another illness that emcompasses several of his symptoms, like autism? Reason I ask is because my brother is bi-polar and obsessive compulsive, among other things, and he was diagnosed with a type of autism called Asperger's Syndrome.
