My son got diagnosed with a learning disability
My ODS just got diagnosed with Visual processing learning disability. I knew there was something wrong because his writing skills are horrible. He hold his pencil with his wrist bent . He also writes word backwoods and he writes some of his letters from bottom to top.
I am so great full that his teacher was so on top of things. She knew he was having problems and that it was more than just lack of motivation. She got the ball rolling for all the testing . His school is wonderful and it only took a few months to get a IEP and a diagnoses.

You might want to see if that would qualify him for EFM. Anything you can do to keep him with a proactive teacher like that would be great, not to mention keep him in a routine.
I'm glad you got some answers, it will help him so much!!!

Proud Seabee wife!

My boys both have dysgraphia and one with the visual processing. My 3rd grader has help with Ot and IEP for reading and writing since reading and writing comprehension tend to go along with that. My oldest has an IEP and 504 for English and all his other classes gets help with notes and stuff since it is actually painful for them. I have done tons of my own research on this because it was hard for my now 15 yr old to get help back when he was younger. PM me if you ever have questions about it.
