Effective 05/28/2009...
The SDUSD has 60 days...60 days to have ODS tested for a Learning Disablility and the findings reported to me. 60 days. This is almost 4 years of school in the making. I feel like the last 2 months have been nothing but greatness as far as this goes.
that we get an answer.06/30/2009 we have the EEG to find out if he is in fact having Absence Seizures. It's a shot in the dark as to whether or not we're going to see them, but I got the impression that the Neurologist we saw is convinced he is having them. Hopefully I'll hear back from them within a few days. That's my update. 60 days. Only 60 more days...

I hope they get on the ball, sweetie. I just had to call again, to follow up on what is exactly is going on with our paperwork for Jaxon. He needs help and I have no idea who we're even supposed to be seeing at this point.

We should hopefully be done before the end of the school year which would be nice, but if they don't get all the testing done, they pick up where they left off at the beginning of next year (they count those 60 days by the days they are in school, not calendar days). Which I can sort of understand, but there will then be a 6 week gap for summer break and it'll make it just take longer to get that IEP. ![]() I really really hope you are able to get Jaxon all figured out.

I would advise to stay on top of them too.
It was a ****ing nightmare with Riley. I gave them EVERYTHING they needed in August of 2009 and he was finally tested during March. I finally someone at the state level and the next day the ball was rolling. It's a bitter subject for me, because I can't imagine what happens to the poor kiddos who don't have proactive parents like you! Good luck and I hope that they can find some answers! Is the EEG through the school or through Tricare? |
