I can see the frustration on his face when he is trying to get through it to say what he wants.

School needs to START? Hush yo' mouf, you speak
craziness!!!!! I am SOOOOOOOOO counting days.......
Is his stuttering from frustration? Maybe get him interested in something (baseball? soccer? aquariums? frogs? a musty sneaker collection?) that he can speak about comfortably and enthusiastically, without feeling like he's on display or having to perform?
Dependingon his age and his temperament/aptitude, maybe get him interested in cooking. I suggest that because it's pretty size-friendlyl; that is, you wouldn't end up with a living room full of quesadillas if he likes cooking, but you can only handle so many shelving units if you get him nterested in screw-it-yourself furniture).
The thing about cooking (and you can extrapolate this to a lot of things) is that it requires him to read, and to convert that reading into a physical skill. It could be a real confidence-builder for him.
