Head Start and an IEP
For those that have put their child in Head Start and they had an IEP at the time, did Head Start wave the income requirments? I know we make too much to qualify but SEDOL up here in IL told me that Head Start has a quota they try to meet each year with kids that have IEPs and because of that they should/would the income requirments for us. So, I was just curious if anyone has done this, heard about this, etc. TIA

Oh, good!!
We're going home next week (that is where the kids and I will be moving to in May) and I want to see about getting him on the list. I have a friend whose dd goes there now and she told me they have registration coming up in a couple weeks so I should get in there asap. Thank You. And, I had a feeling you would know.

my middle son was in head start and we made to much money, we were in NC at the time they had two classes one for kids who were there because of income and another for kids that were developmental delayed. It was a great program and helped us in so many was.

If your child qualifies for special ed, the school has to provide the services in the IEP even if he's waiting for a placement. Ex. if he qualifies for speech therapy and OT, they have to still provide you with that even if he's not in a classroom.
