Elemental formula and older kids
Anyone on here have an older child on elemental formula? What formula are they on? How did you introduce it to them? Did they take it willingly?
We are waiting on Tricare approval and should be getting Makkiah's formula tomorrow. They are starting him on Elecare. He hasn't been on formula since he was 2.5 so I'm wondering how he'll take it. |

belle is on EO28 i think it's a form of elecare or neocate....she does fine...she's been on it since she was 14 months old...she gets it in grape and pinaple orange....we just call our rep whenever we need more and they're great...No hiccups from tricare either....it's been smooth from all sides...Good luck
Belle's is in a juice box and is flavored so it was an easy trasition...she just thinks it is juice....

It's good to hear that you've had no problems with Tricare. They approved Peptamin Jr for him but he can't have it since it's made with cow's milk protein and he's allergic to it. He'll be 8 in two days so I'm just wondering how he'll take to drinking this stuff. We have to do something though since he's sitting at 0% on the chart for weight and 7% for height. |

Hi there- I just came across this post and actually I am a nutrition specialist for the company that makes the Neocate and E028 Splash. I may be able to shed some light on the difference between the Neocate and E028 Splash
![]() The E028 Splash is nutritionally complete like the Neocate products and can be used as the sole source of nutrition for children 1-10. Neocate is the powdered product and comes in both infant formulas and "of age" formulas for kids over the age of 1. The 2 Neocate powdered products for kids over the age of 1 are Neocate One Plus and Neocate Junior. Neocate One Plus is the natural progression from the Infant formula and Neocate Junior has higher levels of protein, vitamins and minerals for children with malabsorption issues. The E028 Splash is the same exact nutritionally as the Neocate One Plus but it comes in a ready-to-drink liquid form and in 3 flavors (Grape, Tropical Fruit and Orange-Pineapple). The E028 Splash is great for the older kids since it comes in a juice box and looks like what all the other kids are drinking, even though it's actually an elemental medical food. I hope this helps! |
