So Babies Can't wait therapists came out to our house this past Friday and did their evaluation on Auriana. They concluded that she has low muscle tone in her abdomen and legs and needs physical therapy for that, she doesn't like to have anything in her mouth since she's mostly tube fed and will need speech therapy to help with that eventually, and they did their version of a hearing test (standing in different areas of the room behind her and making loud noises with bells, whistles, horns, and clapping to see if she reacted)... well, she didn't react to any of it. She has had 3 different hearing screenings done at the doctors office and hasn't passed any. Sometimes we think she can hear because sometimes she will turn when we drop something or if Kylee is making noise, but we really don't know. She will go to an Audiology specialist sometime after she turns 6 months old so we really won't know for sure until then if she can hear and how much she can hear. I think we will start trying to learn some sign language anyway just in case. I want her to be able to hear, but of course will love her just the same either way.
Babies can't wait will be coming back out next week to sit down with us and come up with a plan for all her therapy.

My best friend's niece was considered 90% deaf and she got a cochlear implant and can now hear a lot of things, and understand loud speech
![]() There are options out there and Aurianna is so lucky to have a mommy who will find her everything she needs! Good luck and please keep us posted

I just wanted to give you a big
for the Babies Can't Wait involvement - we worked with the NC program with DS and they were such a blessing to us/him. to Auri and to you for being such a wonderful mom and working so hard to give her all you can out of this world!
